Can You Help?

Our pre-adoption forms are now on-line!

Philosophy & Mandate

The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animal's primary purpose is to promote the prevention of cruelty to animals. It is committed to putting an end to animal suffering. The Society starts from the principle that no one has the right to cause physical or mental pain or suffering to any animal.

This basic philosophy works within the law and in cooperation with other organizations, government, research and industry representatives and the public, in order to improve conditions for animals while maintaining a balanced sensitivity toward both animal and human needs.

"I have the room in my heart, but not in my home..."
During the month of May, please go to our partner site at IAMS to sponsor one of our adoptable pets. If you've ever visited the Animal Shelter and said, "If only I had room for one more," or "If I had the space, I'd take them all!" then this program is just for you! In May, you can visit the website below and choose to sponsor one of our adoptable pets. We have two "ambassador" pets to feature - Skittles and Annie. Think of it as a "virtual adoption"... and with your sponsorship and support, we may be able to find a real, forever home for more of our deserving pets. Just visit www.iamssponsoringfriends.ca
For all the details or call the Ontario SPCA Kent Branch at 519-354-1713 or email ontariospcakent@yahoo.ca for more info

We Need Your Help!
With the large number of kittens we’ve been taking in lately, we running desperately low on kitten food and cat litter. We use plain, dry kitten food without any added flavours or colours. We only use plain clay cat litter – the non-clumping type as everyone gets a completely clean and disinfected litter box to start the day.
