In July 1991, The Moebius Syndrome Support Network was started in California, U.S.A. by two moms, Vicki McCarrell and Lori Thomas. Both their children have Moebius Syndrome. At that time, Sean was 11 months and Chelsey was 3. Vicki and Lori knew they needed to band together in those early days. "Lori and I thought it was imperitive that we get the information out there for others who were just as in the dark as we were," commented Vicki. The idea of the newsletter came up, to help spread the word. The first one in the fall of 1994 to thirty people. The mailing list today consists of over 800 names world wide, and is growing at about four to five names per week.
Now in July 1997, Canadian members of the Support Network want to get to work in our home country, extending the reach of the original support group, right accross North America.
