If you
fish, your ship has just come in. In the form of a lightweight,
solid hull catamaran. The Hobie Float Cat can easily pack into
the back of, say, an Explorer®. And onto the back of a fisherman.
You can haul your boat darn near anywhere. In fact, you can fully
disassemble a Float Cat 60 or 75 and toss it in your trunk. In
just a matter of minutes. (3 minutes, to be exact). And keep in
mind this isn't some inflatable innertube job. Our twin polyethylene hulls are seamless and extremely rigid. So your Float Cat will survive those nasty hidden rock encounters.
And keep you straight-up stable as you head out on the lake. If this copy is starting to sound a little dry, it's probably because Float Cat owners are dry. You see, when you sit in a Float Cat, you sit out of the water. In fact, only your knees and appendages due south will get wet.
Now let's head north, to your eyes. From the Float Cat's raised
sitting position, you'll enjoy better visibility (particularly
helpful if you sightfish). Okay, so let's imagine you're actually
sitting in a Float Cat right now (as opposed to, say, your living
room). Your boat is innately balanced and you're sitting out of
the water. As a result, you've got complete freedom of movement,
so casting is a breeze. Now, you've just maneuvered your way into
a tiny inlet that Lewis and Clark didn't even find, and you're
surrounded by lush, towering pines. You're also surrounded by
every kind of accessory you could possibly want (the Float Cat
is the Swiss Army Knife® of boating).
Our stripping apron flips over your head for simple entry and exit. You've got two very deep accessory pockets that'll hold pretty much anything you'd like.
The one-piece
hulls have molded-in drink holders and rod-holder attachments.
Comfortable seating? A Hobie Float Cat is a seaworthy Lazy Boy®.
We build Float Cats in two lengths: 60" and 75". The Float Cat 60 will handle a weight capacity of 250 lbs. While the Float Cat will support up to 350 lbs. of gear, sandwiches, and of course, you.
