24 Hour Emergency Response for injured, abused or neglected animals.

Canine Control - Pickup of stray dogs within the City of Chatham and south Kent.

Cruelty Investigations - Over 250 investigations yearly - Our team of officers will investigate concerns of abuse or neglect of any animal within the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. Offenders may be criminally charged for cruelty to animals. You may contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (222-8477) if you prefer.

Adoption Program for the surrender, care and adoption of animals including dogs, cats and small domestic animals.

Foster Program for animals requiring special care (sick, injured, pregnant, nursing or post surgical). Homes are always needed where these animals can stay and recuperate.

Family Violence Assistance Program to provide temporary shelter and care for pets of domestic violence victims while they are in transition.

Humane Education Program which promotes responsible pet ownership and delivers workshops to children, youth, educators and others about animal care, animal safety and the importance of compassion towards animals.

Violence Prevention Program which provides help to increase awareness of the connection between animal cruelty and human violence.

Volunteer Opportunities are availiable at the shelter and at public awareness/fundraising events. Volunteers are always needed.
